Criminal Charges Dropped Against Former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Star Mary Cosby – The Real Housewives

Real Housewives isn’t the only thing Mary Cosby is putting behind her.

Criminal charges against Mary were dropped by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office earlier this month, according to PEOPLE.

As we previously reported, the former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star was facing two misdemeanor charges against her — one charge was for unlawfully providing shelter to a runaway, while the second was for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

On Sunday, Mary celebrated the news in a post on Instagram.

“I don’t live my life to please people; I live my life to please God,” Mary wrote. “To the people who are committed believing lies, [the] truth will always stand.”

She then thanked her fans for their unwavering support: “Love you guys!! So much!! Don’t worry about haters; let them worry about you.”

“In this case, the right decision was made to dismiss it, and [Mary’s] happy with that,” Mary’s attorney Stephen McCaughey told FOX-13 last week before confirming the news with PEOPLE. According to McCaughey, Judge Katherine Peters dismissed the charges against Mary on September 7.

Back in April 2021, Mary was charged and pleaded not guilty in June of that year. At the time, Mary’s lawyer said that she was “saddened” to be “dragged into another family’s domestic situation.”

Mary’s son Robert M. Cosby Jr was charged with the same crimes; however, his case was dismissed back in February of 2022.

“The charges sound sinister, but the reality of the situation is much different,” Robert’s lawyer, Clayton Simms, told FOX 13 in 2021. “It’s simply a case where Robert’s girlfriend’s mother didn’t want him hanging out, so she called the police. Rather than the Salt Lake City Department focusing on real crime, they’re turning into the relationship police. The basis of this case is just a misunderstanding. We think there’s absolutely no merit to the case.”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returns to Bravo on September 28.
