Free public transport for over 75s launched in Israel

Free public transport journey in Israel for over 75s was launched this morning as a part of the federal government’s fares reform. Senior residents beneath 75 will proceed to pay 50% fares. Youngsters aged 5-18 will obtain a 50% low cost and people below 5 will proceed to journey free. Reductions for disabled individuals will rise from 33% to 50% and pupil reductions will keep at 33%.

The reform applies to all types of public transport – buses, Jerusalem mild rail, Israel Railways and the Carmelit and Metronit in Haifa.
