Klarna, one of the fastest-growing consumer ecosystems in the world, which is leading the generational shift away from credit cards, today launched Conscious Brands Collections in the Klarna App in Ireland, in partnership with Good On You, the world’s leading sustainability rating platform for fashion brands. Klarna’s Conscious Collections today and in the future have received top scores from Good On You for their sustainability track records. Shop the collections here.

Good On You evaluates 500-plus data points, assessing the most critical social and environmental issues facing the fashion industry today to evaluate a brand’s impact on people, the planet, and animals—rating each brand on a ve-point scale ranging from “We Avoid” to “Great.”

The announcement comes at a time when Irish consumers are increasingly looking for more socially and environmentally friendly brands. Klarna’s data1 shows that 8 in 10 (79%) Irish consumers nd it important that a brand actively combats climate change through reducing carbon emissions, with another 6 in 10 (60%) saying they want to receive information on the environmental impact of the product they’re purchasing.

The launch of Conscious Collections is part of Klarna’s sustainability strategy and follows the investment of EUR 240,000 in Irish carbon removal company Silicate to accelerate growth in the carbon removal space and help permanently remove CO2 emissions from the atmosphere. Last year Klarna also launched its carbon emissions tracker, one of the largest-ever awareness-raising efforts on carbon footprints based on consumer reach, to introduce carbon emission data on a worldwide scale and provide shoppers with an average Co2 emissions for each purchase. The Conscious Collections represent a further step by Klarna to provide consumers with insights and shopping inspiration for environmentally and ethically friendly apparel.

Salah Said, head of sustainability at Klarna, said: “We’re excited to partner with Good On You, a global leader in sustainability-driven insights, and provide our Irish consumers with access to curated collections of more sustainable brands. Our goal is that Conscious Collections along with our CO2 tracker can help increase awareness around sustainability and help consumers make informed choices.”

Klarna’s Conscious Collections are live in the Klarna App today in Ireland and across 17 other markets.
