Royal Enfield Hunter 350 roadster motorcycle teased ahead of August 7th launch
Royal Enfield is all set to launch the Hunter 350 on the 7th of August, 2022. The motorcycle giant has just released a new teaser in the build up to the launch. According to the teaser, Royal Enfield could have a special unveil event on the 5th of August.
The Hunter 350 will be Royal Enfield’s most affordable motorcycle, and is likely to sit at the very bottom of its line-up, below the Bullet 350. The Hunter 350 is touted as the brand’s answer to the likes of the Honda CB350 RS and the Yezdi Scrambler – motorcycles that are aimed at younger buyers. A starting price of under 1.5 lakh could make the Hunter 350 a runaway hit.
The styling of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is quite youthful. The spyshots of an uncamouflaged Hunter indicate just that. A slim fuel tank, upswept single seat, plenty of parts shared with existing Royal Enfields, and a kerb weight that makes it the lightest motorcycle in the line-up are few of the key highlights that have been revealed in the run up to launch.
The motorcycle is based on the new, J platform that was first introduced through the Meteor 350. Like the Meteor, the Hunter will be powered by a 350cc, four stroke single cylinder engine putting out about 20 Bhp-27 Nm. A five speed manual gearbox will be standard. The Hunter 350 will get disc brakes on both wheels with dual channel ABS, telescopic front forks and gas charged twin shock absorbers at the rear. A wide handlebar and a short stubby exhaust complete the street scrambler/roadster look of the Hunter 350.
The Hunter will be one of Royal Enfields two big launches for 2022. Next up is a 650cc cruiser based on the 650 twin platform that Royal Enfield introduced through the Interceptor and Continental GT. The 650cc cruiser could be called the Shotgun/Super Meteor, and will be the new flagship motorcycle from Royal Enfield. It’ll be powered by the same 647cc, four stroke parallel twin engine that is offered on the Interceptor and Continental GT.
The 6 speed manual gearbox with slipper clutch will also be carried over. The cruiser will get upside down front forks, tripper navigation and alloy wheels as major upgrades. The relaxed riding position with kicked out foot pegs is another unique selling point of the new Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser. The new cruiser will take on the Benelli 502C and the Kawaski Vulcan 650 but will priced significantly lower as it’s fully built in India.
