Shannon Beador Drops Lawsuit Against Ex Lawyer Over $1.4 Million Divorce Settlement – The Real Housewives

Moving on!

Shannon Beador had dropped her nearly two-year-long legal battle against her divorce lawyer, Ben Phillips, over accusations he botched her divorce settlement from ex-husband David Beador.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the Real Housewives of Orange County star recently informed the judge in the cast that she and Phillips reached a confidential settlement.

As part of the agreement, the reality TV star agreed to “dismiss all claims, and the case will be closed forever.”

In October 2020, Shannon filed a professional negligence lawsuit against Philips claiming that he failed to properly represent her in her divorce which ultimately cost a lot of money. Originally Shannon demanded primary physical custody of their three teenage daughters and $22k a month in support.

By June 2019 the former RHOC couple finally reached a settlement deal that forced David to pay Shannon a $1.4 million lump-sum payment. David also agreed to pay $10k a month in support which consisted of $2,935 per month in child support and $7,065 in spousal support.

Ultimately, Shannon was not happy with her settlement agreement and accused Philips of failing to include the costs of their daughters’ college education.

Shannon also accused Philips of failing to get David to sign a “filming release” so their daughters could “continue to appear in their roles on” RHOC.

“In the 11th hour, [Ben] convinced [Shannon] to take a low dollar divorce settlement, right before trial,” the lawsuit stated.

Philips has yet to publicly comment on the lawsuit.

RHOC is set to return for season 17 in late 2022 or early 2023.
